3 cups water

1 tablespoon ghee or oil

1 teaspoon cumin seeds

1 onion, finely chopped

Rinse the Ahaaram Red Masoor Dal under cold water until the water runs clear. Drain and set aside.

Chop the onion, tomatoes, garlic, ginger, and green chili. Keep them ready.

In a large saucepan, add the rinsed and drained Red Masoor Dal along with 3 cups of water.

Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium-low, cover the saucepan, and let it simmer for about 20-25 minutes or until the lentils are soft and cooked through.

In a separate small pan, heat ghee or oil over medium heat.Add cumin seed,chopped onions,garlic, grated ginger, and chopped green chili,Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft and mushy.

Once the lentils are cooked, add turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt to the saucepan. Stir well to combine. and our the prepared tadka (tempering) into the cooked lentils and mix everything together.
